Scott Desposato
of UC San Diego's Political Science Department will visit us Tuesday, February 5. He will present
"Campaign Strategy and Impact in Latin America" (based on his research on
campaign messages in Brazil
and
"going negative in comparative perspective") from 12:30 pm - 2 pm in Anderson 216.
He will also meet with graduate students immediately following the talk. Contact Ben Smith if you're interested in meeting with Professor Desposato individually during his visit.

February 19-20 2007: Ehrlich Chair Presentation
The sixth (and last) visiting candidate for the Ehrlich Chair, will be visiting the department on Monday and Tuesday, February 19-20. His colloquium is scheduled for Monday from 3:00 to 4:30 PM. Graduate student are invited to have lunch with the candidate on Monday between 12:00-1:00PM. All these events will be held in Anderson 216.
November 09 2006: Spearker's Series: Ange-Marie Hancock
Ange-Marie Hancock of Yale University will visit the department November 8-10.
On Thursday, 9 November she will hold a lunch seminar with graduate students from 12:00-1:00 in the Anderson Hall conference room. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Her colloquium will take place from 3:00-4:30 and is entitled "Hurricane Katrina, Intersectionality, and the Politics of Disgust."
November 03 2006: Spearker's Series: T.K. Ahn
TK Ahn of FSU will visit the Department Friday, November 03.
His colloquium, entitled "Information Costs, Information Sources, and the Implications for Democratic Politics," will be held between 12:00-1:30 PM in Anderson 216; sandwiches and soft drinks will be provided.

October 19 2006: Speaker's Series: Kennan Ferguson
Kennan Ferguson visit:
Ferguson, director of the Social Science Interdisciplinary Program at the University of South Florida, will visit the department on Thursday, October 19. His talk, titled "Pluralizing Space: The Politics of Care and Disability," is scheduled for 3:00 PM and will be followed by a reception. At Noon, he will meet with graduate students over a catered lunch. Ferguson is a scholar of American political thought.
