Professor Oren earned a BA in Middle Eastern studies from Tel-Aviv University, an M.A. in Political Science from New York University, and a PhD in international relations from the University of Chicago. Professor Oren recently became Vice President-elect of the International Studies Association, and in 2004 he served as President of the Association's Southern region. His book, Our Enemies and US: America's Rivalries and the Making of Political Science, was published by Cornell University Press; a Chinese translation was published by the Shanghai People's Press and a Japanese translation is in progress. Oren has lectured in Germany, China, and Japan. In Summer 2007 he was a Visiting Associate Professor of Political Science at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan.

Professor Hozic holds degrees from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (B.A. in Philosophy), SAIS Bologna Center—The Johns Hopkins University (M.A. in International Affairs), and the University of Virgina (Ph.D. in Political Science). She is the author of Hollyworld: Space, Power and Fantasy the American Economy (Cornell University Press, 2001) and numerous articles on politics and representation of violence in the Balkans. A recipient of MacArthur, IREX, Fulbright and other grants, Professor Hozic has also taught at Bogazici University in Istanbul, the University of Sarajevo, and the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary.

Ms. Wallen is the Senior Office Manager for the Department of Political Science. She has been employed at the University of Florida since 1989, and has extensive experience with UF financial and accounting standards, travel planning and processing of claims, event planning and scheduling, and conference organization.

Laura Corpus has been at the University of Florida (UF) since 1998. As an undergraduate University Scholar, she studied college-age women from Muslim immigrant families. After receiving a Master's in International Business at the University of Florida in 2003, she performed administrative and fiscal responsibilities for a Title VI federal grant, a Heifer International grant, and a Coca-Cola World Citizenship Program grant at the UF International Center. In 2006, she became the Coordinator for the Master of Arts in International Business (MAIB) program, where she advised current and potential MAIB students and foreign exchange graduate students at the Warrington College of Business Administration.

 

 

KernaghanMs. Nicola Kernaghan

Born in Ireland, Nicola Kernaghan currently works at the University of Florida as Assistant Director for Outreach at the Transnational and Global Studies Center (TGSC) and Coordinator for Program Evaluation at the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). Ms. Kerhaghan is responsible for program evaluation for both organizations and she has over four years of experience assessing the effectiveness of federally-funded activities. Additionally, Ms. Kernaghan is a PhD student at the University of Florida’s College of Education. She specializes in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis on global studies and evaluation.

 

 

KigginsMr. Ryan Kiggins

Mr. Kiggins is originally from the Republic of California. He has earned undergraduate degrees in Economics and Political Science as well as a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Utah. He currently is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida. He has recently passed his qualifying exams and is developing a Dissertation proposal concerned with US Foreign Policy towards Global Governance of the Internet. Mr. Kiggins has been trained in the fields of International Relations, Political Theory, and Methodology (Qualitative Emphasis).

Mr. Lopez is an undergraduate student at the University of Florida, pursuing a degree in Political Science with a focus in International Relations and Latin America Studies. He has been selected for the McNair Scholars Program for the 2008-09 academic year and he currently serves as Public Relations Director for the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society at the University of Florida.
